Haneda Innovation City (HICity), the large-scale mixed-use complex beside Haneda Airport, will host a new nighttime series called Japan Night Fever beginning October 11, 2025. Spanning six days across four consecutive weekends, the event combines food, entertainment, and cultural experiences under the theme of “Japaneseness.”
By combining HICity’s role as a hub of both innovation and culture with its convenient airport location, the festival aims to create a welcoming space where visitors—including international travelers—can enjoy “truly Japanese!” sights, sounds, and flavors.
Background
As one of Tokyo’s gateways to the world, Haneda Innovation City (HICity) has long staged events celebrating both innovation and culture. This autumn, the spotlight shifts to the nighttime, with a special focus on welcoming international visitors.
Japan Night Fever takes inspiration from the lively atmosphere of night markets—bustling after dark and fading by morning. Guests can look forward to an array of quintessentially Japanese experiences, from gourmet street food and traditional games to live performances, exhibitions, and hands-on workshops.
Beyond the festivities at HICity, the event also encourages travelers to explore the wider Haneda area and Ota Ward, offering a richer look at the city beyond the airport.

Large-scale "Japanese x Cyberpunk" Decorations

The main pedestrian walkway, known as the “Innovation Corridor,” will transform into a visual spectacle. Traditional chochin lanterns set a festive mood, while further along, the scene shifts into a neon-lit cyberpunk world. This blend of nostalgia and futurism creates two distinct expressions of “Japaneseness,” offering plenty of perfect photo opportunities.
"Food Festival" Featuring Iconic Japanese Flavors

Visitors can savor a wide selection of Japanese favorites, from ramen and gyoza tastings to sake sampling. The festival also spotlights local cuisine in collaboration with Ota City, making it a one-of-a-kind culinary experience that celebrates Japan’s role as a gateway to international travelers.
"Ashiyu DJ" with Popular Japanese Music

On the Ashiyu Sky Deck overlooking the airport runway, guests can dip their feet in a hot-spring-style footbath while enjoying DJ sets. The music lineup highlights Japanese city pop, anime soundtracks, and video game tunes that are winning fans worldwide. Enhanced by synchronized light and sound, this uniquely Japanese entertainment is designed for all ages.
Arcade Game Corner

Japan’s world-class gaming culture comes alive at this free-to-play arcade space. From competitive titles to casual favorites, there’s something for everyone. On select dates, live commentary will add the excitement of a real gaming tournament.
Experiences Rooted in Japan and Ota City

Hands-on activities will showcase both Japanese tradition and Ota City’s technological edge. Highlights include “cyber yatai” food stalls created with local companies, letting visitors experience the flavors and creativity of the area with all five senses.
Japanese-Inspired Street Performances

Surprise street shows will bring classic Japanese performance culture into the mix. Expect everything from interactive samurai-style dramas to the lively shishimai (lion dance), traditionally performed to bring luck and celebration. These performances aim to delight both international guests and local visitors alike.
