Description
Established in 1911 as Japan's first Western-style theater. It is one of the most famous theaters in Japan and has been a hall of fame in the entertainment industry for over a century. It is also known as ”Teigeki”. The current building was completed in 1966 (designed by Yoshiro Taniguchi).
The lineup and schedule are on the official website. Please note that the ticket office is only open on performance days and closed on non-performance days.
Free lockers and a cloakroom are available. The ”Café IMPERIAL” is available during the opening and intermission. In addition, wheelchair-accessible spaces are available for wheelchair users to enjoy the play. Pre-rental service of paper scripts and tablet terminals is available for handicapped visitors by reserving two or more days in advance. (In some cases, only paper scripts are available.)
Original souvenirs of the Imperial Theatre are available at the store. Paid rental of opera glasses is available (currently suspended). No dress code.
