Description
Asakusa Hanayashiki, which opened in 1853, is the oldest amusement park in Japan. One roller coaster in Hanayashiki dates back to 1953 and is the oldest extant scream machine in the country. With a large variety of attractions, such as those that even newborns can ride or spine-tingling haunted houses, this is an amusement park that you can enjoy with your kids. Put yourself in a festive mood for the ennichi, or traditional Japanese fair stalls, in the game zone. Another popular attraction is the Ninja Training Dojo, where anyone 5-years old and older can learn the requisite skills to become a ninja (reservations required). Hanayashiki even has an area on its rooftop with views of the main hall and five-storied pagoda of Senso-ji Temple, Tokyo Skytree(R) and other sights, making it a wonderful place to enjoy Asakusa sightseeing. The park is a three-minute walk away from Asakusa Station on the Tsukuba Express Line, and a five-minute walk from Asakusa Station on the Tokyo Metro Ginza Line, Toei Asakusa Line, and Tobu Skytree Line.
