Chichibu Nishiki Sakezukuri no Mori

The Chichibu region is blessed with rich seasonal nature and high-quality water, and sake has long been brewed here. This tourist spot inside a beautiful forest consists of the brewery for Chichibu Nishiki brand sake, a sake brewery museum and a product museum. The brewery was founded here in 1749. Chichibu Nishiki, their main product, won first prize at the sake fair for seven years in a row since 2002. The brewery performs all processes including polishing the rice, which you can observe by reservation. Brewery museum exhibits include traditional tools and sake bowls; the product museum in a separate building sells Chichibu shochu (distilled liquor) and offers tastings of Chateau Chichibu wine and other regional products besides Chichibu Nishiki. From Chichibu Station on the Seibu Chichibu Line, take the Gururin-go bus. A one-minute walk from the Sakazukuri-no-Mori bus stop.
