Tonosho Port

Tonosho Port is the main gateway to Shodoshima Island in Kagawa Prefecture. It has the highest number of ferry and high-speed boat departures on the island and connects to major cities such as Okayama and Takamatsu. Shodoshima is known for its mild climate, olive production, and soy sauce.
The Tonosho Port Tourist Center is located beside the pier and offers luggage storage, souvenir sales, and bicycle rentals, which helps visitors explore the island smoothly.
Because the island is large, buses or cars are needed to reach more distant areas. International visitors can travel efficiently with the 1-Day Pass for the Shodoshima Olive Bus, which allows unlimited rides on all routes.
During the Setouchi Triennale art festival, held every three years, many visitors arrive from Japan and abroad. During this period, congestion is common, and planning travel to avoid peak hours and allow ample time is recommended.
