Valuing the spirit of folk art, he was the founder of Matsumoto folk art furniture in 1973.
Mr. Sanshiro Ikeda supervised the layout of the furniture in the building, and the current building of the old building was renovated.

After that, in 1997, the current main building was newly built.
The museum has folk crafts centered on Matsumoto folk craft furniture, and everyone can feel the warmth of folk art.

In 2016, the concept was set as "Folk Art Philosophy Matsumoto's daily memory".
We have renewed the hotel so that customers can experience the splendor of folk art more than ever.

The main dining restaurant Icaza, banquet hall, coffee shop, etc. are available in the hall.

The large communal bath "Fukashi no Yu", which uses the abundant spring water of Matsumoto, which uses the melted snow of the Alps as its water source, is also popular.
