Hotel Shirakabaso <Shiga Kogen> is popular for its spacious and clean rooms and open-air hot spring baths. Homemade dishes using local vegetables, mushrooms, Shinshu beef, etc. are also popular. This is a homely inn that can be used casually by one person, family, or friends. The hotel is a 2-minute walk from the nearest Hasuike Hiroba bus stop, a 3-minute walk from the Yamanoeki bus terminal, and convenient access to the entire area by express bus from Nagano Station and local bus within Shiga Kogen. In winter, it is a 2-minute walk from Maruike Ski Resort, a 4-minute walk from Resort Gondola (Yamanoeki), and a 5-minute walk from Giant Ski Resort. There is also a free shuttle bus connecting the ski resorts in Shiga Kogen, making it a great location for conquering all the ski resorts in Shiga Kogen. In summer, it is also an ideal base for mountain climbing and hiking. At a plateau of 1,500m, there is no air conditioning. Each room has a fan. (Summer only)
This inn is located in Myojin, the center of Kamikochi. From the entrance to Kamikochi, Kamikochi bus terminal, it is 3km through the Konashidaira campsite, and about 45 minutes on flat ground in the forest, so you can only get there with a backpack. Even if you don't bring anything, there are shower toilets, amenities, and Wi-Fi. You can see the mountain scenery from the lounge on the second floor and the observation bath SPA on the second floor. A quiet inn that started as a samurai mansion because of its safe and flat natural environment 400 years ago. The location of Myojinkan is called Myojin. The untouched natural scenery remains, and you can look up at the sharp mountain peaks above your head at a 40-degree angle. It does not have a city feel. The Azusa River, Myojin Bridge, Myojin Pond, etc. are about a 3-minute walk away. In Myojin, there are many scenic spots such as the left bank road of the Azusa River just before Myojin, Myojin, and the mountains from the Azusa River bed at the entrance to Tokumoto Pass. The area around Myojin Shrine is the largest treasure trove of alpine plants in Kamikochi, including colonies of Anemone nirinsou, and 100 species of wild birds have been spotted there throughout the year. Around October 20th, the natural larch colonies turn red in autumn. There are public toilets in Myojin Square, and there is a cafe in Myojinkan. There can be a lot of day-trippers for two hours at lunchtime. Due to the surrounding forests, ponds, and the Azusa River, the annual maximum temperature is below 28°C. As it tends to be sunny in the early mornings, we recommend staying for several nights.
