“Traditional Japanese House NAKAMURA,” located near Kawaguchi Asama Shrine, is a quiet Japanese house offering views of a Japanese garden with seasonal landscapes and Mt. Fuji. With a history of around 200 years, the Nakamura family has been part of the Kawaguchi area, and in order to pass down their legacy and spirit of challenge, the building has been transformed into a place for travelers to relax, featuring a café, shop, and multipurpose space.

The serene tatami-room café inside the traditional Japanese house allows you to experience the history and culture of old Japan. The “Kominka Omotenashi Oju,” a beautifully presented two-tiered vegan Japanese meal that excludes all animal products such as meat, seafood, eggs, dairy, and honey, has become popular among travelers from around the world.

Passing through the impressive curtain of Mt. Fuji, you will find a gift general store. It offers carefully selected items related to Yamanashi Prefecture and the Fuji Five Lakes region, chosen by the store owner who was impressed with them. The second floor of the old house is a co-working space where you can work or take a break during your trip.
