Gono no Yakata Northern Culture Museum (Itotei)
豪農の館 北方文化博物館(伊藤邸)
Description
This was a residence of the Ito Family, the largest landowners in Niigata from the Meiji to the Showa Period. To get around the agricultural land reform, this home became a museum. The architecture, artworks, and garden are all sterling and worth seeing as a slice of Niigata's culture. Of particular fascination is the scenery from the great hall, which changes with the seasons. Feel free to snap photos anywhere in the building.
