Echigo-Yuzawa Station

Echigo-Yuzawa Station is the gateway to the renowned hot springs town of Echigo Yuzawa and is only about 70 minutes from Tokyo on the Joetsu Shinkansen.
A world-class snow resort area, the region attracts visitors from across the globe in winter.
Inside the station, the Ponshukan shop offers tastings of Niigata’s famous sake, and souvenir shops sell regional products. Just outside lies the Yuzawa hot springs town featured in Kawabata Yasunari’s novel, ”Snow Country.”
The visitor center inside the station provides multilingual brochures, and staff is available to assist you in different languages. Bicycle rentals are also available during snow-free periods.
The area becomes extremely busy during the winter ski season and during the late-July Fuji Rock Festival, so be sure to make lodging reservations well in advance.
