Description
Stretching along some 8 km of coastline from Kurosaki, Fudai to Bentenzaki, Tanohata is a series of steep cliffs rising about 200 m from the surface of the sea to create some awe-inspiring scenery. The jagged rocks are reminiscent of soaring mountains. This is where Kitayamazaki earned its nickname of the Alps of the Sea, forming the most scenic views of the Sanriku area.
