Description
Built during the late Edo Period, this hexagonal three-storied Buddhist hall is characterized by the unique structure that completely separates the ascending and descending stairs. It is believed that the structure was designed this way so that visitors come and go easily. The building, which has a star in the Michelin Green Guide Tohoku, was designated as a Japan Heritage in 2016.
