Description
Hirosaki Park surrounds Hirosaki Castle and is one of Japan's most celebrated cherry blossom sites, with around 2,600 trees in bloom each spring. The scenery shifts through the year — fresh green in summer, vivid foliage in autumn, snow in winter. Hirosaki Castle Tower, rebuilt in 1810, is one of only twelve original castle towers still standing in Japan. Moats, stone walls, and gates remain throughout the grounds, so you can see cherry blossoms framed by a castle gate, or autumn leaves reflected in the moat, all within the same visit.
