Description
You can spot Choshoji from a distance when walking through the Zenringai district of Hirosaki. The temple is a family temple for the Tsugaru family of the Hirosaki clan, and is a precious piece of architecture that demonstrates the traditional Zen-style of the early Edo period. Its main building, living quarters and the Tsugaru family's mausoleum and other parts of the premises are designated important cultural assets.
