This guesthouse was renovated from a traditional Japanese house that is over 100 years old. There are three rooms, two dormitory rooms and one private room, and can accommodate up to 11 people. The shared space has a mini kitchen (with rice cooker) where you can make simple meals. There is also a coworking space on the second floor for those who work on computers. Recommended for long-term stays. Please feel free to use it. Next door is a cafe that was renovated from a closed public bath, and sells lunch, sweets, and drinks made with ingredients from Yakumo. Eating in the bathtub is sure to be a strange sensation you have never experienced before. (※ Business hours: 11:00-17:00 Closed: Mondays and Tuesdays) Check-in is handled by an unmanned check-in using a tablet. Staff are on-site until 17:00. Our hotel consists of the main building and the Shirakaba-an Villa. There is a warm wood stove in the lobby just inside the main building. Relax and unwind while sipping tea brewed by a staff member from Taiwan. Shirakaba-an Villa, completed in 2020, was designed by Kenta Sano, a disciple of architect Toyo Ito. Fascinated by the beautiful scenery surrounding the villa, Sano aimed to create a building that would blend into the landscape and become part of the forest.
