An event will be held to celebrate the 45th anniversary of the creation of Hello Kitty at Mitsui Outlet Park Sapporo Kitahiroshima. The event will begin on Friday, January 25, 2019 and run through Sunday, February 17. The interior of the facility will be colored in Hello Kitty themes and visitors will be able to enjoy various events and exhibitions. In this article we will introduce spots for Instagram photos, original goods, and things to see in order to enable you to fully enjoy the event.
You can take photos in the Hello Kitty Room, the first to be opened in Japan
The outline of Hello Kitty is at the entrance of this booth. The inside of Hello Kitty is packed full with smaller images making this the perfect spot for an Instagram photo! As this is the first time in Japan for such an event, the pictures you take here will certainly be the envy of all your friends. This is a unique occasion in which you can see the representative designs of Hello Kitty over different time periods. Looking for your favorite design among them will certainly be a happy experience.
The inside is perfectly Instaworthy!
In addition to the Hello Kitty Room there are many other good photo spots inside the mall.
For example, lanterns made in collaboration with Hello Kitty are strung along the southern entrance of Clover Mall. These adorable Hello Kitty lanterns are programmed to light up projecting a magical and mystical scene before your very eyes.
There are also many other Hello Kitty photo spots inside the mall. Certainly you will be able to find one that is perfect for taking pictures.
Hello Kitty will greet you on holidays
During the event, Hello Kitty will also make appearances in the hall. If you are lucky, you might be able to bump into her while you are shopping on a Saturday or holiday, the only times she will make an appearance. Be careful to note that you will not be able to see her on a weekday.
Check out the original Hello Kitty designed items
An original shopping bag will be given to those shopping in the mall during the event period. This bag has been specially designed for this event, so it will only be available here. Also, for those who visit, there is also a chance to get original novelties of this event limited to those who can show their passport. Both are limited in quantity, so it is first come, first served!
There will also be “delicious” Hello Kitties, but limited to just this event
Take a break from shopping and try one of the cute sweets. These will only be available in the mall between Saturday February 9 and Sunday February 11 at the Sanrio Café Wagon. These crepes topped with Sanrio Hello Kitty and other characters are so cute you will want to photograph them. Also a limited selection of Hello Kitty design donuts will be offered.
It’s best to take the bus to the mall during the event
Be sure to check with participating hotels in Sapporo into the free bus tickets being offered during the event for the direct bus that departs from beside the Tokyu Department Store in front of Sapporo Station; something which normally costs 310 yen one way.
An even better deal during the event is the Bus Set Ticket which includes coupons for shopping and dining as well as roundtrip bus fare. Normally the shopping coupon alone costs 3,500 yen, but everything in the Set Ticket is being offered for only 4,000 yen. (Tickets can be purchased from vending machines or at the windows of the Subway Toho Line Fukuzumi Station, Tozai Line Oyachi Station, and the JR Kitahiroshima Station. Prices will vary depending on which station the ticket is purchased.
Hello Fantasy Park is a place where you can find Hello Kitty designs from various generations which are a visual delight. Be sure to stop by the Mitsui Outlet Park Sapporo Kitahiroshima if you are in Sapporo during the event.
