Description
The name ”Kawayu” can be separated into ”kawa” (river) and ”yu” (hot water). Indeed, hot spring water bubbles up through rocks and forms a river that passes through the town, filling the area with clouds of vapor and the smell of sulfur. This hot spring town bustles year-round, with many inns and souvenir shops lining its streets.
