Description
As the end of the Tokugawa shogunate neared in the 19th century, this office was built in conjunction with the opening of Hakodate's port. It was torn down only seven years later, but using historical photos, diagrams, and archeological evidence, this office was built in 2010 using traditional methods. Inside its spacious chambers, you can experience what life was like back in the age of samurai, and see the history of its construction methods and Fort Goryokaku.
A 17-minute trip from Hakodate Station on the Hakodate Tram for Yunokawa, then an 18-minute walk from Goryokaku-Koen-Mae
