We took the direct local bus to sounkyo onsen (2hrs) from Asahikawa station. Reached about 10mins before 5pm and a short walk to the festival which opens at 5pm. We didn’t regret the long journey...Visited February 2023 -

Immersive sounkyo onsen ice festival. One of the top matsuri event in hokkaido not to be missed. Fireworks this year starts at 8.30pm and closes at 9.30. There are some performance on site as well...Visited February 2023
