Description
Made famous by a cigarette commercial back in the 1970s, this Biei hillside once had a row of larch trees lining its ridge. Part of that row was cut down in 2018, but the trees that remain still frame a sweeping view of farmland running to the horizon — a classic slice of Biei's rolling, big-sky scenery. Arrive early, before the tour buses show up, and the morning light hits the trees and fields from the front, making it one of the best times of day for photos.
