Spring 2026 brings the luxury sightseeing train "Hanaakari" to the Hiroshima, Miyajima, and Iwakuni areas. Blending refined design with regional culture, the train feels like a rolling gallery of local traditions. On board, guests can sample special sets of Miyajima’s signature Momiji Manju from long-established confectioners and enjoy displays inspired by Hiroshima Kagura, a traditional performing art of the region.
These spring departures are available as travel packages that can be reserved from overseas. If you’re planning a trip to Osaka or Hiroshima, the "Hanaakari" offers a relaxed and memorable way to experience the culture and scenery of western Japan.
A Special Holiday Invited by Hanaakari, Illuminating West Japan in Spring 2026
Japanese rail travel continues to evolve. JR West’s sightseeing train "Hanaakari" links some of Setouchi’s best-known sights, including Hiroshima Castle, Peace Memorial Park, World Heritage Miyajima, and Kintai Bridge. Inside, the elegant design creates a refined, comfortable space that builds anticipation for the destinations ahead.
In-Train Hospitality That Stirs the Senses

Savor Hiroshima's Flavors and Traditional Crafts
Passengers can enjoy traditional sweets from long-established shops along the route. Momiji Manju and Toyoka from the historic Miyajima confectioner Yamadaya are served in their original packaging and paired with a beverage, offering a taste of local tradition during the journey.
The “Superior Green” car also functions as a kind of moving museum. Display shelves feature traditional furnishings from regions along the railway line, and each seat is paired with a different craft or artwork, giving passengers something new to discover every time they ride.
Attendants offer a selection of special onboard items for purchase as well. These include regional souvenirs, exclusive Hanaakari merchandise, traditional Hiroshima Kagura goods, and original paper-cut artwork created in collaboration with Miyajima’s Daisho-in Temple.
