The powder rooms of Tokyo these days are simply incredible! Spaciousness and cleanliness are a given, but some powder rooms offer items like makeup and even hair styling sets. Some of them are also extremely cute, bringing happiness and cheer to their users. Let us introduce you to five “particularly useful powder rooms” worth knowing about!
Shibuya: A Colorful Space with a Flowery Atmosphere is Waiting for You
Shibuya Chikamichi Lounge is located in the basement of the Shibuya Station underground passage. The lounge consists of powder rooms, dressing rooms for women and men, as well as resting areas, nursing rooms, and a welcoming service staff of concierges.
The powder room is a beautiful, brightly colored space designed through collaboration with the digital photo book, NINADIGI, produced by photographer Mika Ninagawa. The classic, yet pop-inspired interior is sure to catch the girly part of your heart.

Shinjuku: Relaxing Space Filled with Water and Greenery
This powder room, located in the Shinjuku Marui (0101) Main Building is full of lush greenery, allowing you to fully relax. Its spaciousness has attracted a lot of attention. The private restroom on the 7th floor is twice as large as those in the average powder rooms! The fountain is softly lit with indirect lighting, offering visual effects for stress relief.
Visitors can also appreciate the makeup space, complete with partitions and chairs. Each booth is fully equipped with a power supply, so it's the perfect place for getting ready. Different greenery is beautifully placed to suit each floor's concept, so find out which powder room is your favorite.

Shibuya: This is the Powder Room of the Future!
In the Shibuya Hikarie SinQs building, you can experience futuristic powder rooms called “Switch Rooms.” Various schemes have been devised to change your mood in different ways, depending on the floor. Air shower booths that remove pollen and dust from your clothes are equipped on the 3rd floor. While you must join the membership system to experience the wide view of Shibuya on the 5th floor Switch Room, large comfortable sofas will let you feel complete relaxation.
Be sure not to miss Beauty Pedia in the basement, which was newly introduced during building renovation in September 2015. In this refreshing space featuring relaxation and cosmetics, you can enjoy cutting-edge goods, such as an aroma oil blender, which can mix 12 kinds of natural aroma oils, allowing you to freely create your own original fragrance. This is the best place refresh your mind and spirit.

Ikebukuro: Try Interesting, Talked-about Beauty Appliances
In Echika Ikebukuro, a commercial area along the underpass of Ikebukuro Station, you can find Cluxta, a pay-per-use space for aesthetic self treatment and makeup. The charge is 300 yen for one hour (a time extension of 20 minutes costs 100 yen). You can freely use not only cosmetic items and skin care products, but also hair irons and reflexology goods.
