A collaboration between traditional Japanese workwear “maekake”—revived for modern times through inherited craftsmanship—and a Ginza institution.
We present the “Ginza Maekake Exhibition,” a collaborative event with stationery store Ginza Itoya, headquartered in Ginza.
The venue is the Ginza Itoya Main Store (G.Itoya 1st Floor, Ginza Street Side Event Space), running from Friday, October 31st to Thursday, November 13th.
This event showcases and sells original maekake aprons from seven historic Ginza establishments, including Itoya, while sharing the history and culture of these long-established Ginza shops.
Featuring Itoya original design aprons and tote bags made on traditional “shuttle looms” operating for over 100 years in Toyohashi City, Aichi Prefecture (the apron production hub), alongside aprons adorned with the logos and motifs of Ginza's renowned stores. These are exclusive items available only here.
