Overview
teamLab Borderless is a large-scale digital art museum created by the art collective teamLab, now located in the Azabudai Hills Garden Plaza B basement in Toranomon, Tokyo. Rather than fixed galleries, the artworks flow between rooms with no map and no set route — light, water, sound, and motion respond to visitors as they move through the space, so no two visits look quite the same.
It's distinct from teamLab Planets (Toyosu), which is a smaller, more physical experience where visitors walk barefoot through water and mirrored rooms. Borderless is the bigger, more wide-ranging of the two, and better suited to visitors who want to wander freely through many different installations in one visit.
Good to know: Entry is by fixed date and timed slot, and bookings cannot be cancelled or rescheduled once confirmed — double-check your date before paying.

Tips for Visiting
- Book 2–3 weeks ahead if you want a specific time slot — weekends and holidays sell out fastest.
- Go early on a weekday, right at opening, to avoid the lunchtime crowd surge reviewers consistently mention.
- Download the official teamLab app before you visit — it's used to issue numbered tickets for popular installations like the Infinite Crystal World during busy periods.
- Wear white or light-coloured clothing — several visitors note it makes the light installations more striking in photos.
- Some rooms are dark and disorienting; hold onto kids or anyone with balance or vision concerns.
- Set aside at least 2–3 hours — most visitors say 2 hours feels rushed if you want to see everything, including the EN TEA HOUSE.
