Overview
Before You Book: Miraikan is closed from October 1, 2026 through mid-April 2027 for renovation. If your trip falls within this window, do not book tickets — check the official site for the confirmed reopening date before planning a visit.
Under normal operation, Miraikan's biggest draw is its robotics demonstrations, featuring humanoid robots and hands-on exhibits about AI, space exploration, and biotechnology aimed at both kids and adults.
The Geo-Cosmos — a giant OLED globe suspended in the main atrium displaying real-time global weather and environmental data — is one of the most photographed exhibits in any Tokyo science museum.
Good to know: Because it's currently closed for renovation, treat any pre-October 2026 information about exhibits as provisional — expect an updated exhibition lineup when it reopens in spring 2027.
