Enjoy a tour of a Kutani Ware ceramic studio located in a neighborhood of ceramic artisans, personally guided by Kazuka Asakura, the fourth-generation head of the kiln. In addition to learning about the studio, guests are also shown around a stylish gallery full of charming, colorful items, with firsthand commentary and explanations from an artist who creates items like these.
This studio tour offers an in-depth look at the entire production process, from preparing the clay to painting the decorative glaze patterns. The tour continues with the kiln’s gallery, which features a collection of precious works made by the previous heads of the kiln. Guests enjoy a unique perspective and insights from a guide intimately familiar with these impressive items.
Following the gallery visit, guests can relax with coffee or tea at the café, served in Kutani Ware made by the kiln studio itself, for an up-close encounter with these colorful and charming ceramics.
