- What to expect

For watching fireworks at Lake Toya, we recommend taking a sightseeing boat operated by Toyako Kisen. The Toyako Nakajima Touring Boat runs to Nakajima, an island floating in Lake Toya, and travels around the four islands of Oshima, Bentenjima, Kannonjima, and Manjujima on the way to Oshima. In summer, you can disembark at Oshima, so you can enjoy the nature around Nakajima, or relax at the Lake Forest Museum or cafe. The boat operates from 8:30 to 16:30 (every 30 minutes) in summer and 9:00 to 16:00 (every 60 minutes) in winter. The fare is 1,600 yen for adults (800 yen for elementary school students)1. Toyako Kisen also operates a boat to watch the fireworks at the Lake Toya Long Run Fireworks Festival. The fireworks are launched while traveling 2 km over the lake, so you can enjoy them from a close distance from the Toyako Onsen town. The operating hours are from 20:35 to 21:20, and the fare is 1,700 yen for adults (850 yen for elementary school students).2 Enjoy a fun boat trip!
