Kuroishi Nebuta is a more approachable festival compared to Aomori Nebuta. Join the local dancers and shout "Ya-le Yaleya-" as you pull the Nebuta floats. You can also try beating the large taiko drums and ringing the bells. Of course, you can also fully enjoy the festival just by watching from the viewing seats.

Kuroishi Nebuta Festival & Inakadate Rice Paddy Art Tour Kuroishi Nebuta Festival is a local and friendly festival and combines the best elements of the Aomori Nebuta and Hirosaki Neputa festivals. It is a community-focused summer festival primarily organized by local neighborhood associations and children's groups. Kuroishi is a walkable town, and retains old townscapes from the Edo period, known as Komise Street. On this street, you can enjoy traditional buildings and the nostalgic atmosphere. Inakadate rice paddy art is a unique and impressive form of art created using rice paddies. Each year, the villagers plant different varieties of rice to create large-scale artworks that depict famous characters, historical scenes, or cultural motifs. This living art is best viewed from an elevated observation deck, where visitors can fully appreciate the intricate designs and vibrant colors.
