The Museum of the Ancient Orient is located in Sunshine City in Ikebukuro, Tokyo. It is the first museum in Japan dedicated to introducing the ancient Orient. In addition to the artworks from West Asia and Egypt, it also displays archaeological materials and artworks related to the Silk Road that connected Eastern and Western civilizations in Eurasia. In addition, the museum displays objects recovered from archaeological excavations in Syria.
