His works offer an experience of realism, as if beautiful, lifelike goldfish are swimming right before your eyes. Is it the virtual or the real, or illusion or reality, that lies within the ripples of the water's surface? While Fukahori presents his works as if they are alive, he simultaneously confronts the fact that they are merely layers of lifeless paint.
