- Kamakura is the former capital of Japan, located in the southeastern part of the Kanagawa prefecture, approximately 70 minutes away from Tokyo.
- The Shogun Minamoto-no-Yoritomo established his military government in 1192 and the city prospered for more than 150 years after that. It is now a very peaceful city, but its rich history resulted in a legacy of marvelously well preserved temples and shrines. Kamakura city’s lovely atmosphere makes it one of our most popular one-day tours.
