- Visit an aroma shop where you can mix your favorite scent, knead it, and mold it into cherry blossom petals. Touch, see, smell, and feel Kyoto with all five senses. A pleasant scent like honey, along with natural materials such as Yuzu, Hinoki Cypress, and Sandalwood, makes this an incense experience to enjoy. You can make about 10 kneaded incense in one experience. You can also easily assemble a unique incense burner using wood from Kyoto that matches modern times to enjoy the aroma of your handmade incense.
- Drop by the Incense Museum, where you can learn about the incense stick manufacturing process that has been going on since the Edo period. In the same area as the museum is the traditional incense shop called Shoeido, which has been in business since 1705.
- Last but not least, stop by Kyoto Sanga Incense. This is a unique new-era incense shop. It selects scents from all over the world and crafts its own natural incense sticks in the laboratory.
