What to expect

Amanohashidate, one of Japan's three most scenic views, awaits. Its name means “bridge in heaven,” and it’s a naturally formed sandbar stretching across Miyazu Bay, lined with thousands of pine trees. Viewed from the hills, the sandbar looks like a bridge floating between heaven and earth. Visitors can stroll or cycle along the 3.6-kilometer sandbar, or opt for a cable car or monorail ride (850 yen, not included in the tour) to enjoy panoramic views from the mountaintop. Nearby, Chionji Temple, known for prayers related to academic success, offers visitors a chance to experience a peaceful temple setting. The temple is home to Monju Bosatsu, the Bodhisattva of wisdom, and is popular among students seeking blessings for academic achievement. The two and a half hours stop includes time for lunch at your own expense, with fresh local seafood being a popular choice. Some attractions might need to be skipped due to capacity or weather conditions.
