This is a workshop on Arima Onsen's traditional craft, "Arima Doll Brushes (Karakuri Brushes)."
The beautiful patterns made from silk thread wrapped around the bamboo shaft are the result of delicate craftsmanship, and are known as lucky charms that bring good fortune in children and safe childbirth.
After the dolls are made, you can enjoy to your heart's content the approximately 4,000 pieces in the collection from Japan and abroad, as well as the Karakuri dolls made by Karakuri artists.
