Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine enshrines the well-known god of learning, Sugawara no Michizane. It is the headquarters of approximately 12,000 Tenmangu shrines in Japan and the largest shrine in Kyushu, attracting many tourists from home and abroad.
According to legend, Nyorinji Temple was built by the Japanese monk Gyoki during the Nara period. It enshrines Nyorin Kannon, a goddess of mercy, and is a designated cultural property of Fukuoka Prefecture. ※ In the temple, each wind chime costs 500 yen. Please write down your wishes and enshrine them in the temple. You cannot take them home. The wind chimes are decorated from June 1 to September 30 every year.
Yufuin's "sightseeing carriage" began more than 30 years ago and has now become a famous tourist attraction in Yufuin.
