<Xie Kokumei>
A Hakata merchant from the Song dynasty of China. He is a person who contributed to the development of Hakata by bringing Zen culture to Hakata, including the construction of Jotenji Temple.
<Wakahachimangu Shrine>
A popular shrine to ward off evil. On New Year's Eve, the Hakata Sennenmon Gate is a welcoming gate to Hakata. An 8m high wooden gate completed in March 2014. It is modeled after the "Tsujidoguchi Gate" that used to be here.
