- Overview
-
- This gourmet program combines "Murakami tea," grown in the northernmost region of Japan, with traditional local seasonal foods. The special menu at Notoshin, a long-established ryotei (Japanese-style restaurant) founded 270 years ago, will feature dishes using Murakami tea, seafood from the Iwafune fishing port in Murakami City, gibier, Murakami beef, and traditional salmon dishes, all prepared by the chef right in front of you. The tea has a history of about 400 years and is cultivated at the northernmost limit of the city. The tasting of Murakami tea, known for its deep sweetness and mild flavor, is a result of being grown in the harsh environment of cold winds and heavy snowfall.
