On 3 October 2026, enter Ryogoku Kokugikan, home of Tokyo’s Grand Sumo Tournaments, for a rare one-day-only official retirement ceremony. Former top-division wrestler Hidenoumi will face his younger brother, active top-division wrestler Tobizaru, in one final match before his topknot is removed. Guests will also see a ring-entering ceremony by professional wrestlers, elite high-school wrestlers face professionals, the topknot-cutting ritual and Hidenoumi’s return with his new hairstyle. A limited Topknot-Cutting Participation Ticket lets guests personally make one ceremonial cut under staff guidance. This is not included in standard Chair Seat or Traditional Box Seat tickets. An English brochure and selected English announcements will be provided.
