This exhibition delves into the enduring charm of the extraordinary artist Momoko Sakura, who was active as a manga artist, essay writer, lyricist, and screenwriter; continue to creating new characters and essays. Since her debut as a manga artist in 1984, she has produced a string of beloved works, including "Chibi Maruko-chan" and "COJI-COJI." Her creations have captured the hearts of both children and adults, showcasing a unique blend of black humor and chaos in various works . Notably, "Chibi Maruko-chan," which started serialization in the girls' magazine "Ribon" (Shueisha) in 1986, became Japan's national favorite after its anime adaptation in 1990. Additionally, her debut essay "Momono Kandume," published in 1991, became a massive bestseller, with over 2.9 million copies sold as of January 2024.
