Overview
  • Today, the Roppongi area has a strong image of modern skyscrapers, but if you step into the alleyways, you can still find many scenes of the town's origins, culture, and people's lives. Although Tokyo has an image of being flat, the Roppongi area is actually quite different in elevation, and by comparing it with old maps, new discoveries can be made. This guided tour is an interactive experience, starting with an architectural tour inside the National Art Center, Tokyo, designed by Kisho Kurokawa following the concept of “an Art Center surrounded by green spaces” and ending with a foot tour to feel the uneven topography of the Roppongi area and the contrast of the unique Tokyo cityscape.
What to expect

We will look at the charm of the building, which is considered a masterpiece of the late Kisho Kurokawa, a master of modern architecture, with its conical shape, architectural beauty, and ingenuity combined with practicality.
