It was Japan's first art museum dedicated to displaying Japanese paintings, opened in 1966, and houses a collection of approximately 1,800 items, including modern Japanese paintings, ukiyo-e prints and paintings from the Meiji era to the present. Cafe Tsubaki, located in the lobby on the first floor of the museum, serves Japanese confectionery named after various exhibition works produced by Kikuya, a long-established Japanese confectionery shop in Aoyama. The appearance and taste are exquisite. In addition, at the original merchandise store, you can purchase limited items that can only be purchased here.
