- Experience Mikoshi Parade in Kichijoji, Tokyo!
- On September 13, 14, 15, the “Kichijoji Autumn Festival” is held. It’s a great opportunity to experience a traditional festival featuring the parade of Mikoshi portable shrines. You’ll watch as many as 11 Mikoshi, one from Musashino Hachimangu Shrine and 10 from each district of the town. Every Mikoshi group has its own distinctive style of carrying and shouting. At the highlight, all Mikoshi gather and demonstrate their performances.
- Join this tour and your guide will tell you all about this festival and show you around the town which is full of festival atmosphere. On the 14th you can take part in carrying a Mikoshi with the townspeople and parade it around the town. Don’t miss this chance!

・On September 13, from 2:30pm to 4:30pm, watch a Shinto ritual of putting the spirits of deities into the Mikoshi portable shrines ・On September 14, from 3pm to 6pm, wear a Hanten festival jacket and join the townspeople in carrying the Mikoshi and parading around the town. You’ll be a Mikoshi carrier! ・On September 15, from 3pm to 5pm, experience the custom of dedication in the festival and receive the townspeople’s hospitality.
