Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine, dedicated to the well-known god of learning, Sugawara no Michizane, is the head shrine of approximately 12,000 Tenmangu shrines throughout Japan and the largest shrine in Kyushu, attracting numerous tourists from both home and abroad.
According to legend, Nyoirinji Temple was built by the Japanese monk Gyoki during the Nara period. It enshrines Nyoirin Kannon, who prays for the wishes of those who come here to make them come true. It is also a designated cultural property of Fukuoka Prefecture.
Yufuin is voted the number one tourist destination by Japanese girls. Because Yufuin is surrounded by mountains, it has a more peaceful and gentle feeling that makes people feel very relaxed.
