What to expect

A great place to visit on your way back from sightseeing in Kikuchi Valley. A mushroom farmer's restaurant where you can enjoy all the bounty of the forest. For our interview, we visited Mori no Ajidokoro Nakamura, surrounded by nature and close to Kikuchi Valley. The shiitake mushrooms that the owner, a shiitake farmer, takes great pride in, as well as the plump nameko mushrooms used in the dumpling soup, are all painstakingly grown on logs. You can also enjoy Kyushu local chicken and the light, refined tasting duck, grilled over charcoal to bring out the aroma.
