This is a related project to the "Toyama Shoji Exhibition: Birds in the Storage Room," which will be held at the Contemporary Art Museum Kumamoto from October 5 to December 14, 2025. Film director Toyama Shoji will be hosting a special tour for foreign visitors to two of Kumamoto's most famous art museums.
The tour will visit the museum, which is a purely Japanese-style building with tatami flooring, which is rare even in Japan, Nabegataki Falls, which is said to have been formed by a huge eruption of Mt. Aso, and a hot spring resort with abundant geothermal energy. The curator will also explain the history, culture, and natural features of the region through contemporary art.
