[Hiroshima] Hiroshima Calligraphy Experience – Kanji Name & Personal Souvenir!
- What to expect
-
Japanese calligraphy (shodo) is a traditional art that expresses words and feelings using brush and ink. Hiroshima is known as the top producer of traditional calligraphy brushes in Japan. The brush you’ll use today is handcrafted in Kumano Town, a famous brush-making area right here in Hiroshima. At the end of the session, you'll write your name in kanji and turn your artwork into a custom souvenir — such as a T-shirt, suitcase belt, or pouch. Perfect for couples, families, and solo travelers. The session takes about 90 minutes and is just a short walk from Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park. 【Schedule】 STEP1: Practice Basic Techniques. STEP2: Translate and practice writing your name or favorite words in Kanji. STEP3: Choose your favorite item and decorate it with your calligraphy.
