Dating back approximately 1,200 years, the festival is dedicated to praying for safe voyages, bountiful catches, and regional prosperity. It features a magnificent procession of over 100 fishing boats, adorned with colorful "tairyo-bata" (flags celebrating a big catch), as they boldly navigate the waters of the Genkai Sea.
