Kamikochi is usually open to tourists from mid-April to mid-November. In winter, Kamikochi is inaccessible due to heavy snow closing the mountain.
In order to protect the natural environment of Kamikochi, private vehicles are not allowed in Kamikochi, you need to reach Kamikochi by public transportation (such as bus/taxi) or rent a bicycle.
