Overview
  • A giant snow wall as high as 20 meters, walking in it is like being in an ice and snow canyon.
  • You can walk in the "Snow Corridor", which is perfect for taking photos.
  • A giant 186-meter-high dam, with water mist rising into the sky when it releases floodwaters (several times a day, at fixed times).
  • The walking path at the top of the dam overlooks the Kurobe Gorge, and you must eat the "dam curry rice".
  • Japan's longest pillarless cable car, with panoramic glass windows overlooking Lake Kurobe and the Tateyama mountain range.
What to expect

# Please meet at the Zenkoji Exit of Nagano Station at the designated time (customer service will contact you three days before the trip), your guide will be waiting for you with the doll, then take the bus from Nagano to Ogizawa, and then board the Kanden Tunnel Trolleybus at 11:00 (depending on how busy the route is on the day) - this is the first of the various mountain transportation you will take to reach the top of the mountain. Once you arrive at Kurobe Dam, you will have 1.5 to 2 hours to explore the area and visit the museum. Afterwards, between 16:00 and 16:30, your guide will take you back to Ogizawa. The Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route in Japan is known as "Japan's most stunning alpine sightseeing route". Although the one-day tour is compact, you can experience the ultimate natural and engineering wonders such as snow-capped mountains, canyons, lakes, dams, etc. *
