-This is a special opportunity to meet the descendants of the Mito Tokugawa family, who are normally difficult to meet, and choose two items of historical value from the collection of approximately 30,000 items that fit a theme of your choice to view privately in the VIP room.

-You can wear a high-quality kimono made by a craftsman in Japan and experience a tea ceremony in a tea room that is not open to the public.

-In addition to wearing a helmet, one person per group may wear armor (up to chest circumference of 100cm, additional charge).

-An interpreter guide will accompany you and explain the culture and history.

- Kairakuen, one of the three great gardens of Japan, is adjacent to the hotel, and if you go a little further, you will find many hidden attractions in the surrounding area, such as a historic sake brewery and a sailing ship on Lake Kasumigaura. This is available as an optional tour.


What to expect

The Tokugawa Museum in Mito City has a collection of 30,000 valuable items handed down by the Mito Tokugawa family. Guests can enjoy a private viewing of the collection selected according to the theme of their choice while talking to a descendant of the Mito Tokugawa family in the museum's VIP room. In addition, you can try on a high-quality kimono made in Japan and experience tea ceremony in a tea room that is not open to the public, as well as try on a helmet and sword. One person in each group can also try on armor. An interpreter guide (speaking English and French) will accompany you and explain the culture and history. Enjoy lunch and original Japanese sweets.
